Setting up a drill
Where should the phone go?
Prop it against a wall or on a stand, roughly two to three metres back, with the player and the ball both in frame. Further back than feels natural is usually better — the app needs to see the feet as well as the ball.
What kind of ball works?
Any real ball. A ball with one strong colour is easiest to follow; a mostly-white ball with a busy pattern is the hardest case and may count less reliably on a pale floor. Keep the ball and the floor different colours where you can.
Lighting
Ordinary indoor light is fine. Avoid shooting straight into a bright window, which turns the player into a silhouette.
Counting
The count looks wrong
Touch counting is done by the camera and it is not perfect. The usual causes are the phone being too close, the ball leaving the frame, or the ball being hidden behind a foot for long stretches. Moving the phone back is the single most effective fix.
Does it work outside?
Yes, though a busy background such as a hedge or a crowded park is harder than a plain indoor floor.
Friends, circles and account sharing
What's the difference?
Sharing the account puts another device on the same players — for a partner, or an older kid with their own phone. Everyone sees the same kids, rounds and goals.
Adding a friend connects you to a different family. They keep their own players, and you race each other.
How do I share the account?
Profile → Friends & circles → Share this account. Send the invite, and open it on the second device. Both devices need a recent version of the app installed before the invite will open.
I opened an invite and the app just asks me to set up a team
The shared account can take a moment to arrive. On the welcome screen, tap "Invited by someone? Tap to join their account". If that reports nothing found, force-quit the app, reopen it, and try again. Avoid creating players on the second device while you wait.
What is a circle?
An extra leaderboard for a group — a team, or a few friends. Circles are built from your friend list, and you can create, rename, delete and change the members of any circle you own in Friends & circles.
Privacy and data
Is video recorded?
No. The camera is analysed live on the device and nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete a player or my data?
Deleting a player in the app removes their rounds and withdraws anything published about them. To remove everything, delete the app and turn off iCloud for it in Settings, or email us.
